All runners will kick off their journey at 8:30 AM, with packet pickup starting at 7:15 AM at the Fort Monroe Community Center, conveniently located just a short walk from the start/finish line.
Participants can expect a beautiful course that takes them over the moat bridge and through the historic inner fort, providing stunning views of the coastline. Whether you're aiming to conquer one loop for the 5-mile race, two loops for the 10-mile challenge, or three loops for the ultimate 15-mile experience, you'll be surrounded by a vibrant community of fellow runners. After crossing the finish line, join the festive after-race party at Paradise Ocean Club, where you can enjoy delicious food and refreshments! EVENT OVERVIEW:
5 MILE, 10 MILE & 15 MILE SATURDAY, JANUARY 31, 2026 8:30AM START FOR EVERYONE. RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP WILL BE AT THE FORT MONROE COMMUNITY CENTER, 100 STILLWELL ROAD, FORT MONROE, VA 23651 STARTING AT 7:15 A.M. START/FINISH LINE IS JUST A SHORT WALK AWAY.
RACE COURSE:
JANUARY 31ST IS AT FORT MONROE, HAMPTON VA 23651. WITH A GORGEOUS SCENIC COURSE WHICH WILL TAKE YOU OVER THE MOAT BRIDGE AND LOOP INSIDE THE INNER FORT CONTINUE OFF BASE AND OVER THE MERCURY BLVD. BRIDGE AND THEN BACK TO THE BASE WITH MORE SCENIC VIEWS OF THE BASE AND COASTLINE. 5 MILERS WILL RUN/WALK 1 LOOP, 10 MILERS WILL RUN/WALK 2 LOOPS, 15 MILERS 3 LOOPS. FINISH LINE CLOSURE IS BASED ON A 15 MINUTE PER MILE AND WILL CLOSE AT 12:15. EVERYONE STARTS AT 8:30.
AFTER RACE PARTY:
WILL BE AT PARADISE OCEAN CLUB, 490 FENWICK ROAD, FORT MONROE 23651 STARTING AT 10:15 AM - 1:00 PM. THE CLUB IS ABOUT 3/4 MILE FROM THE START/FINISH LINE. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE TREATED TO HAMBURGERS, HOT DOGS, BEANS, CHIPS AND BEER.
RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP FOR DISTANCE SERIES 2 WILL BE AT THE START/FINISH LINE. THERE IS A LARGE PARKING LOT SURROUNDING THE START/FINISH LINE. WE WILL BE AT RUNNING ETC. HILLTOP FRIDAY, JANUARY 30TH FROM 4:00 TO 6:00 PM
INCLEMENT WEATHER: THE RACE DIRECTOR AND THE TIDEWATER STRIDERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE OR ADJUST DISTANCES AS NEEDED IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY OR ACCESS RESTRICTIONS TO THE VENUE. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS BUT WE WILL TRY AND RESCHEDULE.
