POST-HURRICANE MILTON UPDATE
The past few weeks have been a doozie with Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton impacting our area. We had high hopes of bringing you good news about our October 19th Trick or Trot 5k Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk, but unfortunately, the County Parks & Recreation has said no events until further notice.
However, we are excited to announce that we have secured a new event date at the same great location! Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14TH at Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park. Get ready for a "NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS" spooky fun theme experience, all while supporting youth scholarships. We have huge Nightmare Before Christmas fans in charge of decorations and they're already talking about their plans! Despite the situation, we are super excited to bring you this unique and fun race event experience that will be fun and safe for the whole family!

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
RACE THROUGH THE HAUNTED TRAIL:
Get ready to Zoom-Zoom your way to a spooky good time! The Zoomers Southwest Florida Running & Triathlon Club is thrilled to announce the annual Trick or Trot 5K Trail Run / 1 Mile Trail Walk, and this year, its bigger and better, thanks to our title sponsor, Mazda of Port Charlotte.
Join fellow ghouls and goblins for a fun-filled, Nightmare Before Christmas-themed 5K trail run or 1-mile Zombie walk through the beautiful Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park. Our smooth mixed-surface trail features mostly dirt and gravel, perfect for runners and walkers of all levels.
GLOW IN THE DARK FINISHER MEDAL:
5K runners who cross the finish line will take home an awesome glow-in-the-dark finisher medal.
POST RACE REFRESHMENTS:
After crossing the finish line, enjoy fresh, delicious pancakes cooked up by Zoomers just for our participants! We'll have post-race food and refreshments for all ages.
For our 21 and up participants, our friends at My Favorite Race Events will be serving up beer!
COSTUMES WELCOME:
Channel your inner monster, witch, or hero! Costumes are encouraged, and there will be awards for the best costume.
PRIZES AND AWARDS FOR 5K:
Compete to win Male and Female Overall, Youth, Masters (40+), Grandmaster (50+), Senior Grandmaster (60+), and Veterans (70+), and the top 3 Male/Female in each age group. 0-9, 10-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. 5k participants will receive a finisher medal.
1-MILE WALK:
Exciting news! We're introducing a 1-Mile Zombie Walk this year, so there's something for everyone. Walkers will receive a bib and a shirt (if signed up before the shirt deadline of 9/23/24).
FAMILY FUN:
This event is perfect for the whole family! Kids aged 1-14 can join in on the fun for a special rate.
