Join us for the 16th annual Turkey Stampede on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, in Elkhart, Indiana! This exciting family-friendly event kicks off at the Elkhart Health & Aquatics Center with a 10K starting at 8:30 AM, followed by a 5K at 8:35 AM, and the Mile Walk at 8:38 AM. It’s the perfect way to get moving and work up an appetite before your Thanksgiving festivities!
Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to experience the joy of community, fresh air, and a little friendly competition. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, and there are special awards for the top finishers in both the 5K and 10K races. Don't forget to arrive early, as registration opens at 6:30 AM! Whether you're running, walking, or supporting from the sidelines, the Turkey Stampede promises a memorable morning filled with gratitude and fun. So gather your family and friends, and let’s make this Thanksgiving one to remember!

WATCH PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 8:00 AM ON RACE DAY
10K starts first at 8:30am, 5K at 8:35am, and the Mile Walk at 8: 38am following as soon as the 5K people are through the gates.
Pricing includes timed race entry fee for 10K and 5K, (The Mile walk is untimed), finisher medals for all who want them, and post race refreshments. Custom shirts are optional and an additional $15.
Come join us in the morning for some fresh air and movement, before your family festivities! This is NOT intended to take up your entire morning- just come out- be with the community - move a bit, work up an appetite and then get back to your plans! Remember to look out for those folks who might not have a place to go on Thanksgiving- and invite them to participate with you!
ATTN GROUPS: We LOVE groups! If you have a group of people (3 or more) you can register everyone all at once. Create a group name. One person can come to packet pickup and get the entire package of bibs/shirts/ etc. If you are having a group, please register by Friday, November 22, 2024 so that we have time to put the group bundles together. NOTE: You must give your group a name in order for our system to pull your people together. Our system doesn't recognize you as a group if you just sign up multiple people.

8:27 am 10K lines up in starting chute area on Jackson
8:30 am 10K only Starts - the Monster Message countdown will be our start!
8:35 am 5K Turkey Rabbit is released with a 45 second head start
8:36 am 5K Runners first followed by walkers (5K will have a countdown start on the Monster Message machine)
8:38 am Mile Walk lead by Gobbles and Holly
THERE IS NO OFFICIAL AWARDS CEREMONY, because we know people want to leave and get back to their holiday asap. Everyone will get a finisher medal. [And if you didn't get one last year, we have hundreds left, so you can complete your collection.]. We do offer the coveted turkey awards for the top three overall men and women that finish the 5K and 10K. Come to the wagon up by the timing trailer by the start finish line, and we will take care of you!
RESULTS will be on the Monster Message Jumbotron and posted immediatley online at Runsignup.com, EpicRaceTiming.com and later on Stone Soup Promotions. We are continuing the tradition of the coveted gravy boat awards to the top 3 MF in both the 5K and 10K in addition to gift cards and free entries into 2025 race. Additionally, we offer $25 cash to the first male and female to Catch the Turkey! (Not a real turkey, we have a human dressed up as a turkey--honor system here.)
PARKING will be in the adjacent lots around Beacon Health & Aquatics. There is a huge lot by the Hacienda, Civic Plaza, Innova Credit Union, NIBCO water and ice park, and other small businesses close to the race start
The START AND FINISH OF THE RACE will be in front of the new parking lot on Jackson @ Nibco Parkway.

Perhaps you will be out of town... maybe you grew up in Elkhart and moved away...or maybe you just don't want to be on a schedule on Thanksgiving Day. You can STILL support the Faith Mission! Why not have your own event...have your own party and it will be fun! We will even MAIL you your kit which includes Bib, Finisher award and postage and handling. Must sign up by Friday November 8 for shirts and to get this mailed to you in time for Thanksgiving! Be sure to put the delivery shipping address. Sorry, we cannot ship outside the US. A loop course for this event that goes down Main Street, around the beautiful historic Strong Avenue neighborhood, and then back to the Aquatics Center. The 5K run will line up as soon as the 10K takes off! First, we let our Turkey Rabbit get started- with a one minute head start. Then the runners will set out to try and catch him. After all the runners are through the chute, we invite the walkers to come out and get started. Remember, this is a chip start, so you time doesn't start until you cross the timing mat. -

Walkers will line up on Jackson in front of the parking lot as soon as the 5K runners take off. You will go down Jackson to Main Street and then take a 3/4 of a lap around Island Park exiting into American Park. A lovely loop course that will wind you around and bring you back under the finisher arch where you will collect your finisher medal. This is an accessible course.
