This uplifting day features a variety of activities designed to raise awareness and promote prevention of veteran suicide, a critical issue in our community. Participants can choose from three engaging events: a 3-mile walk/run, a 12-mile run, or a challenging 6-mile ruck with a 20kg pack to honor those we've lost.
The event will take place at the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History, where attendees can enjoy live music, delicious food, and activities for all ages. There will also be a silent auction featuring items from veteran-owned businesses and veteran-friendly service providers. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this important cause and connect with others who care. Register by May 1, 2025, to receive a swag bag and a t-shirt in your size! Make sure to pick up your event package on May 16, 2025, at the Missoula Vet Center to ensure a smooth experience on event day. The VSAP event is broken down into three events, a 3-mile Suicide awareness walk/run, a 12-mile run and a 6-mile Ruck (Rucking or packing , 20kg to represent, remember, and honor veterans who have been tragically lost to us and our Nation).
The VSAP helps build community which is one way to help combat suicide. Montana consistently has one of the highest suicide rates in the nation, per capita. This event will help raise awareness and promote prevention about this epidemic by bring the community together to memorialize those lost and let Veterans, their friends, and families know they are not alone.
