Get ready for a wonderful day of community, awareness, and celebration at the annual Walk for Life and 5K on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, in Canon City, Fremont! This exciting event will kick off at the Raynolds/Ash Street bridge, where participants will enjoy a beautifully marked course as they walk or run towards the surgery center. Whether you choose to take part in the 5K or simply walk for a great cause, this event aims to raise awareness for the local pregnancy center and medical clinic while also serving as a crucial fundraiser.
Starting with check-in at 10 AM, walkers will be released at 11 AM, followed by runners at 11:30 AM. Participants can look forward to fun kids' games, complimentary bottled water, and light snacks throughout the day. Everyone registered will receive a limited edition event t-shirt, with past designs available for late registrants. After the walk, join us for the heartfelt Infant & Child Loss Memorial event, honoring those lost to various forms of early life loss. We can't wait to see you there for a day filled with positivity, purpose, and community spirit!

Organiser's Description
This will be our annual Walk for Life with our second annual 5K. Our course will begin at the Raynolds/Ash Street bridge in the parking lot across from the Rec District building. The race will run West this year from that point, towards the surgery center & we will have it clearly marked out for walkers vs runners (5K). This is a fundraiser but it is also an event to raise awareness for the pregnancy center and medical clinic. We will have some kids basic kids games set up in the parking lot, as we did last year. We will offer bottled water and light snacks for our participants in the event. This event will be followed by our Infant & Child Loss Memorial event to honor those lost to miscarriage, abortion, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or early infant loss.
On-site Check-in will begin promptly at 10am with walkers released at 11am and runners at 11:30.
Those registered to participate in the event will receive a limited edition event t-shirt that you will choose the size for when registering. If you register after the cut-off date, you may choose from one of our past years' t-shirts that we will have at a side table near on-site check-in the day of the event. If you'd like to participate in the memorial event as an observer, please stay after the Walk is completed. If you'd like to receive a memorial stone for a loss, please register under that event. We are looking forward to an amazing time together this year with much to celebrate!

CLOSEDThe race course will run West from the Raynolds Street Bridge this year. We will have arrows & markers in place for runners (neon orange) and walkers (neon green). We have walked and measured the course this year to make it as close to a true 5K for our runners as possible. We won't have a professional timer there this year but if you'd like help accurately recording your time, you can let us know when you register by emailing [email protected] and we will do our best to find a volunteer to record your time. We will have prizes for winners in the following categories - for the 5K; children (14 and under), adults and those running with wheelchair passengers (if there are any): and for walkers; those who raise the most financial support, those who have the largest team participating, and a special, staff selection category that will be undisclosed until the awards. -
Infant Loss Memorial

CLOSEDThis service will be held after the Walk/5K is completed and prizes have been awarded. The memorial is to honor the lives of those babies we either never got to hold or those who never got to grow up. The event itself is free. If you'd like to purchase a brick or stone to honor a baby/child lost to miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, early infant death, etc. please select from the options & follow the instructions to customize your stone. These stones make excellent garden stones, porch decorations, and such.
