Plus, to make your experience seamless, an Uber code will be provided to help with your return journey. Join the Laurens Kids foundation and thousands of walkers across the state for the 2026 Walk in My Shoes 1,500-mile trek across Florida. April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month every step counts in the fight to prevent child sexual abuse and help survivors heal.

Join us for a 6-mile walk to Gainesville Womans Club (2809 W University Ave Gainesville, FL 32607) with the opportunity to stop or continue walking our full 9-mile route back to the Child Advocacy Center where we started.
An UBER code will be provided to walkers to cover the cost of a ride back from the walk.

We'll start registration at the Child Advocacy Center Inc. at 11:00 AM on Sunday, April 19th, and begin to walk at 12:00 PM. Our first walk section is 6 miles, and we'll take a short water break at the Gainesville Womans Club (2809 W University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32607). Those who wish to finish the walk will continue walking back to the Child Advocacy Center - another 3 miles - where we'll have our final celebration! All participants will receive a t-shirt and drawstring backpack at registration. Like in years past, we are partnering with Uber to provide the ability for walkers to drop at any point they wish and ride share their way off of the walk route. Free ride share codes will be provided to walkers at registration. Please make sure to have the Uber app downloaded to your phone prior to your arrival.
