Join the Laurens Kids foundation and thousands of dedicated walkers as they come together to raise awareness and support for the prevention of child sexual abuse and the healing of survivors.
Starting at Al Lopez Park Shelter, the walk kicks off at 12:15 PM with registration beginning at 11:00 AM. Participants will enjoy a scenic route leading to the Publix Super Market at Westshore, with an option to extend the journey to a full 7-mile trek ending at Cypress Point Park. Plus, to make your experience hassle-free, an UBER code will be provided to ensure a smooth return from the walk. Join the Laurens Kids foundation and thousands of walkers across the state for the 2026 Walk in My Shoes 1,500-mile trek across Florida. April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month every step counts in the fight to prevent child sexual abuse and help survivors heal.

Join us for a 5-mile walk to the Publix Super Market at Westshore (4900 W Kennedy Blvd Tampa, FL 33609) with the opportunity to stop or continue walking our full 7-mile route to Cypress Point Park (5620 W Cypress St Tampa, FL 33607)! An UBER code will be provided to walkers to cover the cost of a ride back from the walk.

We'll start registration at Al Lopez Park Shelter 311 at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 9th, and begin to walk at 12:15 PM. Our first walk section is 5 miles, and we'll take a short water break at the Publix Super Market at Westshore (4900 W Kennedy Blvd Tampa, FL 33609). Those who wish to finish the walk will continue walking to Cypress Point Park (5620 W Cypress St Tampa, FL 33607) - another 2 miles - where we'll have our final celebration! All participants will receive a t-shirt and drawstring backpack at registration. Like in years past, we are partnering with Uber to provide the ability for walkers to drop at any point they wish and ride share their way off of the walk route. Free ride share codes will be provided to walkers at registration. Please make sure to have the Uber app downloaded to your phone prior to your arrival.
