Join us on July 4, 2025, for the exhilarating Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk, set against the backdrop of the historic Yorktown Battlefield Tour Road in Yorktown, Virginia. This chip-timed event kicks off at 8 AM, with participants gathering near the York High School tennis courts for an unforgettable morning of fitness and patriotism. Feel the excitement as you are led to the start line by Fife and Drummers, creating a festive atmosphere to celebrate Independence Day!
Runners and walkers can look forward to a USATF certified 8K course and a 5K Fun Run, which begins at 8:30 AM. All 8K participants will receive a custom race t-shirt, and the first 350 finishers will earn a stunning die-cast commemorative medal. There are various awards for the top three overall men and women, as well as age group categories for competitors aged 14 and under, 15-19, and in five-year increments all the way up to 75 and over. New for this year is the 8K Ruck Division, where top finishers can earn recognition as well! Don’t miss the refreshments and post-race celebration to cap off

This is a Chip timed 8K event that participants can run or walk on the 4th of July on the historic Yorktown Battlefield Tour Road. Celebrate Independence on the best 8K running/walking course on the Peninsula! Race participants will park and gather near the York High School tennis courts ( 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692) and will be led to the start line by Fife and Drummers. Race Day packet pick up only! 7AM-8:30 AM.

The 8K race starts at 8 AM. The 5K Fun Run starts at 8:30 AM
All 8K participants receive a custom race T and the first 350 to register and finish receive a beautiful custom die cast commemorative medal. Awards for the top three overall men and women. 8K participants will compete for Age Group awards starting at 14 and under, 15-19, Five year increments from 20-24 to 75 and over.
New for 2025 is the 8K Ruck Division. Awards to the top overall Male and Female Ruck finisher.
All 5K Fun Run participants receive a finisher coin and a custom race T while supplies last. The 5K Run walk is not a timed event.
