Join us on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, for the exhilarating Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk, held in the historic setting of Yorktown, Virginia! This chip-timed event offers a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Independence Day while enjoying a scenic course along the Yorktown Battlefield Tour Road. Participants can choose to run, walk, or ruck the 8K distance starting at 8 AM, with the 5K Run/Walk kicking off at 8:30 AM.
Gather at the York High School tennis courts for packet pick-up from 7 AM to 8:30 AM, and get ready to be led to the start line by lively Fife and Drummers. With awards for top finishers and age group categories, including a special Ruck Division for those up for an extra challenge, there's plenty of incentive to give it your all! The first 400 finishers will receive a stunning custom die-cast commemorative medal, and all participants registered by June 24th are guaranteed a race T-shirt in their requested size. Join us for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and celebration, and don’t miss out on the post-race festivities and refreshments!

This is a Chip timed 8K event that participants can run,walk or Ruck on the 4th of July on the historic Yorktown Virginia Battlefield Tour Road. Celebrate Independence on the best 8K running/walking course on the Peninsula! Race participants will park and gather near the York High School tennis courts ( 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692) and will be led to the start line by Fife and Drummers. Race Day packet pick up only! 7AM-8:30 AM.

The 8K race starts at 8 AM. The 5K Run Walk starts at 8:30 AM
All 8K participants registered by June 24th, 2026 guaranteed a beautiful Race T in their size requested. All those registered after June 24th will receive a Race T while supplies last, size is not guaranteed. The first 400 finishers receive a beautiful custom die cast commemorative medal. Awards for the top three overall men and women. 8K participants will compete for Age Group awards starting at 14 and under, 15-19, Five year increments from 20-24 to 75 and over.
8K Ruck Division. Awards to the top overall Male and Female Ruck finisher. Participants under 150LBS are required to wear a Ruck with 10LBS of weight. Participants over 150 LBS must wear a Ruck with 20 LBS of weight. You can carry more if you desire.
This year the 5k is Chip timed. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the top three men and women in age groups: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 10 year increments 20-29, to 80 and over
The first 235 5K Run/walk finishers receive a finisher coin. Custom race T and T shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24th, 2026)
All others receive a race T while supplies last. .
