Join us for the 19th Annual Hertz Trout Valley Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, in the picturesque Oakwood Hills, McHenry! This exciting event is not just a race; it’s a festive tradition that benefits the talented Cross Country and Track & Field athletes of Cary-Grove High School, along with the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Lace up your running shoes for a scenic 5K race at 9 AM, or let the little ones participate in the Kids Fun Run at 8:30 AM.
This year's Turkey Trot promises fun for the whole family, with medals and prizes awarded to the top finishers in various age divisions. Participants can also look forward to a refreshing post-race beverage courtesy of Phase Three Brewing for those of age. Remember to bring a non-perishable food item to support the local food pantry, and consider making a monetary donation as well. Advance registration is encouraged, but limited on-site registration will be available. Mark your calendars and get ready to trot for a great cause this Thanksgiving!

The Hertz Trout Valley Turkey Trot keeps the tradition going in 2025! Join us, as the TTCCA presents the 19th Annual Hertz Trout Valley Turkey Trot benefiting the Cross Country and Track & Field athletes of Cary-Grove High School and the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Bring the entire family for a pre-feast tradition and enjoy the scenic route thru the historic Trout Valley.
THIS YEARS RACE WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION / PACKET PICKUP 7:30AM
KIDS FUN RUN 8:30AM
5K RACE 9AM
Medals and a prize will be given to the overall male and female finisher. Medals will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers in each division. Awards will be available at the Beverage tent following the race. (14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and older)
Returning for 2025, enjoy a post-race beverage courtesy of Phase Three Brewing for our participants of age! While supply lasts, so run fast!
Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable, non-expired food item(s) to support the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Advance registration is preferred but limited on-site registration will be available inside the Trout Valley Lodge. Race day registration closes at 8:30am and t-shirts are not guaranteed.

PACKET PICKUP will take place WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH from 3:00-7:00PM at TBD (HISTORICALLY GALATI'S HIDEAWAY), located at 800 FEINBERG CT, CARY, IL 60013. If you register on Wednesday (26th), your packet will be available race morning. For those who selected the shipping option, packets will be shipped the week of Thanksgiving.
