Whether you prefer to run, jog, walk, or roll, everyone is invited to partake in this festive celebration that welcomes students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members alike.
After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy a lively post-race celebration featuring delicious food, refreshing drinks, and performances by the Marching Illini, setting the perfect tone for Homecoming week! If you can’t make it to Champaign-Urbana, don't worry! A Virtual Homecoming 5K option will be available from September 8th to September 14th for those who wish to join in from afar. Be sure to register for the in-person race by August 20th to secure your race T-shirt! Join us for a day of fun, camaraderie, and Illini spirit—it's an event you won't want to miss!

WELCOME TO THE EIGHTH ANNUAL ILLINOIS HOMECOMING 5K RACE! Join us on SEPTEMBER 8TH AT 10:00 AM, RAIN OR SHINE, to run, jog, walk, or roll from the east end of Anniversary Plaza to the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. After finishing, we invite you to celebrate at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center with food, drinks, the Marching Illini, and other special guests to kick off Homecoming week! Students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members, Illini fans, and families are all welcomed!
We also have a Virtual Homecoming 5K for those who can't make it to Champaign-Urbana for the in-person race! This will be open for the entire duration of Homecoming Week, September 8th through September 14th. It should be noted that shirts are not available for the virtual event.
Registration for the in-person race will be open from July 23rd to 9:30 am on September 8th. To BE GUARANTEED A RACE T-SHIRT FOR THE IN-PERSON 5K, PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE 11:59 PM ON AUGUST 20TH.

Virtual Homecoming 5K Race

CLOSEDYou can still kick off Homecoming week even if you can't join us in Champaign-Urbana! Wear your best orange and blue to run, walk, or roll the 5K! You will have all of Homecoming week to finish and submit your results. Registration will open at 12:00 am on 7/23 and close at 11:59 pm on 9/8. It should be noted, you will not receive a shirt or a race bib and chip.
