Join us on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Concord, Cabarrus, for the exhilarating Veterans Salute 5K and 10K! This patriotic event is dedicated to honoring those who have bravely served our nation, and promises a day filled with community spirit and friendly competition. Races kick off at 9:00 AM with the 5K, followed by the 10K at 9:05 AM, starting and finishing on McCachern Blvd next to the Cabarrus County Parking Lot.
Participants will enjoy scenic routes that showcase the beauty of Concord while vying for top honors in various age categories. The 5K course takes runners toward Corban Ave, while the 10K offers a more challenging trek through the greenway and downtown areas. Be sure to register by October 12th to snag an awesome t-shirt, and the first 100 10K registrants will also receive a cozy hoodie! With awards for the top finishers and a fun run for the kids at 8:30 AM, this event is perfect for runners of all ages and abilities. Plus, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks and engaging yard games provided by Concord's Youth Council. Don

Races will begin on McCachern Blvd beside the Cabarrus County Parking Lot. The 5k will run toward Corban Ave, take a right onto Corban Ave, left onto Union, Turnaround at Tribune, run back to Corban into Greenway and back up to the finish using Downtown Connector. The 10k will run toward Corban Ave, take a left and down into the greenway and up to Lawndale, Patton Ave, connect to McAllister Ave, SunnySide, left on Winfield, left on Ingleside, right on Caldwell, left on Hillcrest, and into downtown Concord using Union, back down Corban Ave, and use the downtown connector for the finish. Awards given to overall top 3 male and female, top veteran in male and female, and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74, 75 and over.
