The highlight of the day is the 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk around the scenic Leaser Lake, where participants will navigate through beautiful meadows, woodlands, and streamside habitats.
Kicking off the festivities is the Dragonfly Dash, a fun 100-yard sprint designed for youths aged 12 and under. Throughout the morning, families can enjoy engaging activities such as crafts, free face-painting, and lawn games, all while savoring the Lehigh Valley Zoo's bird-friendly coffee and meeting some of their ambassador animals. With prizes for top finishers and a chance to win native plants in a raffle, this event promises to be both competitive and educational. Lehigh County Conservation District is excited to host the THIRD Annual Hellbender Hustle - a 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk Around Leaser Lake. The meandering loop will take you through PA meadow, woodland, and streamside habitats of varying elevation, where you can observe native flora and fauna. The event will begin with the Dragonfly Dash -a ~100-yard sprint for youth 12 and under. Throughout the morning, family-focused educational activities such as crafts, FREE FACE-PAINTING, and lawn games will be available. The Lehigh Valley Zoo will reprise their bird-friendly coffee tasting table, accompanied by their Ambassador Animals (weather permitting). _PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED FOR THE TOP FINISHERS IN THIS FRIENDLY COMPETITION, AND EACH PARTICIPANT'S NAME WILL BE ENTERED INTO A NATIVE PLANT RAFFLE! _
Please note that this event will be held rain or shine! We recommend all attendees come prepared with essential outdoor equipment such as rain protection, sun block, and insect repellant (if desired).

Refreshments - drinks and snacks will be provided
A water station will be placed at the lake's South Ramp, half-way through the course
