NOTICE: ALL OF OUR SWAG BAGS HAVE BEEN CLAIMED DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING EARLY REGISTRATION! This is great news, and we thank you for your support. We will have a_ RAINCHECK_ process at registration for those bags that are unclaimed due to "no show" participants. If you missed the opportunity at a swag bag, more information about the raincheck process will be provided at the event registration on the morning of Sunday, October 20th.

It's RidgeWalk time! We are very excited to welcome you back for our annual Fall RideWalk and Run event for our 32nd year!

The 32nd Annual RidgeWalk & Run Event, located in beautiful southwestern New York State takes place each fall as the hillsides are turning into a kaleidoscope of rich reds, oranges and yellows. Our event encompasses many events so if you are looking for a casual stroll through the woods or like a competitive long run we are just what you are looking for.

This year's RidgeWalk & Run event is an in-person event however the RidgeWalk team is is excite to announce we will continue to offer an at home (virtual) option for those who are not able to participate in-person.

Here is how it will work:

IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION

Select the event you would like to participate in and complete your registration electronically through this site. Follow the prompts to complete your registration. You will receive a confirmation email once your registration is complete.

AT HOME PARTICIPATION

* Select the Home Edition registration option and follow the prompts to complete your registration.

* Complete your selected distance anytime between October 12th October 20th

* We highly encourage that in the spirit of the RidgeWalk you do this on trails, however we recognize that may not be possible for everyone

* Take pictures and share them and your story with the rest of the community!

* Be sure to show off your past RidgeWalk swag!
* Post them to our Instagram at #ridgewalkrun
* Find us on Facebook at Ridgewalk & Run and share them with the community
* Send them to us along with your story via Facebook message or email ([email protected]) and we will post them to both locations

* Send us confirmation that you completed your distance

* Email instructions will follow for this as we are hoping to use RunSignUp to complete this

* We will send you the 32nd Annual RidgeWalk t-shirt!

* T-shirt mailing will be within 6 weeks of the event

Remember, all proceeds from the RidgeWalk & Run still go to supporting our local community wellness initiatives in Allegany County.

  • 25K Trail Run or Walk

    Check-in: 7:45 -8:10AM Bus Leaves: 8:15 AM Welcome to the RidgeWalks most challenging trail! Push yourself or casually walk this magnificent trail. It features steep, rocky, and sometimes wet sections, as well as significant climbs and descents of 800 feet or more. The reward is the awesome beauty on a clear day while negotiating wild, remote and challenging footpaths that wind you slowly northeast to the finish line. Extra hydration is a must, so carry a bottle of water; but dont worry; 6 aid stations will be along the way! A cutoff time of 1:15 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at Fords Brook South Branch Aid Station at approximately 4.5 mi. to go. Anyone coming through after 1:30 PM will be asked to be shuttled to the finish line for their safety. To make the cut off you must cover at least 2.5 miles per hour. With still some tough terrain in the last 4.5 miles it would mean the participant could not make the finish line before 3:00 PM at the earliest and we will be running out of busses and food by that time.
  • 10K Trail Run

    Check-in: 11:00 AM -11:45 AM Bus Leaves at 11:50 AM Take the challenge of the 10K Trail Run. The timed run is on forest trails with some breath taking climbs, but the beauty of the trail makes the climb worth the effort. The course finishes with a fast 1/2 mile of downhill back to where it started.
  • 5K Trail Run

    Check-in: 10:30 -11:30 AM Bus leaves: 11:35 AM Challenge yourself with the scenic 5K Trail Run. The timed run is on forest trails with some rolling climbs, but the beauty of the trail makes the climb worth the effort. The course finishes with a fast 3/4 mile of downhill.
  • 9 Mile Walk

    Incl. $3.10 Fee & T-Shirt

    Check-in: 8:30 -9:15 AM Bus leaves: 9:30 AM The 9 Mile Walk covers forest trails and footpaths, and is designed for experienced walkers and hikers only. The course climbs 800 feet in 3 miles and gradually rises 200 additional feet before leveling off. This course can be challenging and somewhat rocky. The prettiest and most remote areas in Alma Township are featured in this walk. Be prepared to spend up to 3 hours on the trails. A cutoff time of 1:30 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at Reddy Road Aid Station at approximately 4.5 mi. to go. Anyone coming through after 1:00 PM will be asked to be shuttled to the finish line for their safety. To make the cut off you must cover at least 2.5 miles per hour. With still some tough terrain in the last 4.5 miles it would mean the participant could not make the finish line before 3:00 PM at the earliest and we will be running out of busses and food by that time.
  • 6 Mile Walk

    Check-in: 9:30 -9:55 AM Buses leave continuously between: 10:00 -10:30 AM The 6 Mile Walk starts on a forest road then onto a rugged trail. After following and crossing a short section of paved road, the trail continues onto more rugged terrain until it passes through the South Branch Aid Station at 4.5 mi. to go. A cutoff time of 1:30 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at Reddy Road Aid Station at approximately 4.5 mi. to go. Anyone coming through after 1:00 PM will be asked to be shuttled to the finish line for their safety. To make the cut off you must cover at least 2.5 miles per hour. With still some tough terrain in the last 4.5 miles it would mean the participant could not make the finish line before 3:00 PM at the earliest and we will be running out of busses and food by that time. Because the aid station is only 1.5 miles into the 6 mile hike, this is rarely an issue for this event.
  • 2 Mile Trail Walk

    Check-in: 9:45 -10:15 AM Presentation: 10:20 -10:50 AM Bus leaves: 11:00 AM The 2 Mile Trail Walk for those who are looking for a low to moderate in the woods experience. There is a guide available on the walk, but you have the option to "go it alone". It is mainly off-road and on flat terrain. Training: If you can walk comfortably at a slow to moderate pace on a treadmill or track, for a half hour to forty minutes, you will be ready to enjoy this activity.
  • 2 Mile Road Walk

    Check-in: 10:15 -10:55 AM Bus leaves: 11:00 AM The 2 Mile Road Walk is geared for a casual, shorter walk. The walk takes place on a paved country road, with an optional 1/2 mile trail finish. This walk is also great for strollers!
