Join us for the 9th Annual "A Walk For Hunger" on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the beautiful Zelienople Community Park! This uplifting event aims to raise awareness and funds for local community feeding programs that support those in need. With registration kicking off at 9 am and the opening ceremony beginning at 10 am, participants can enjoy a scenic walk along the trail. You can complete just one lap, which is approximately 1.7 miles, or challenge yourself to finish three laps for a full 5K experience!
This year, we are thrilled to have Seneca Valley Senior Peyton Sammon leading our efforts to Avenge Hunger, participating in initiatives that include food collection and volunteering at local food banks. After the walk, you won't want to miss our exciting raffle basket drawing and a special check presentation ceremony to celebrate our achievements together. Join us in making a difference in our community while enjoying a day of fun and fellowship!

Organiser's Description
Every September, Armstrong works to Avenge Hunger by collecting resources to help supply community feeding programs and bring awareness to the need that exists. A WALK FOR HUNGER will provide financial support to community feeding programs in the communities served by the Zelienople Armstrong Office. The local feeding programs we partner with are The Lighthouse Foundation, Southwest Butler Food Cupboard, Gleaner's Food Bank, Victory Family Church, Inspired Hearts & Hands, and Holy Redeemer Social Services in Ellwood City.
This year, we're excited to announce Peyton Sammon will be our Seneca Valley Senior. Peyton will help with Breaking Bread's 4 key initiatives: Raising Awareness for students and people in the community, volunteering at our local food banks for food collection and distribution, and collecting food donations and money to be directly distributed to our food banks!
This year, we will be holding A WALK FOR HUNGER on Sunday, September 20th at Zelienople Community Park. Registration will start at 9 am. Our opening ceremony will begin at 10 am and we will start walking the trail immediately after. You're only required to do 1 lap (3 laps = 5K) but you're more than welcome to continue on if you'd like to do a 5K.
