Join us for the 6th Annual Miles for Mentorship event on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at Hawk Island in Lansing, Ingham! This exciting outdoor event features a 5K walk or run, designed to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region's mission to empower youth through mentoring. Participants will enjoy a scenic out-and-back course starting and finishing at the Red Tail Shelter, and the race will be professionally chip-timed for accurate results.
In addition to the 5K, we are thrilled to welcome kids aged 12 and under to our Spooky Sprint Kids Run, where Halloween costumes are highly encouraged! Each young runner will receive a treat bag and a finisher medal. Best of all, the Spooky Sprint is completely free of charge! Come join us for a fantastic day of fun, fitness, and community spirit, all while helping to create meaningful mentoring relationships that enable youth to reach their full potential. Don't miss out on this uplifting event!

Organiser's Description
We are excited to host our 6TH ANNUAL MILES FOR MENTORSHIP event to support BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS MICHIGAN CAPITAL REGIONS mission to ignite the promise and power of youth! Miles for Mentorship is an outdoor, walk or run 5K. This year the event will be held at Hawk Island starting and ending at the Red Tail Shelter. Proceeds to this event help support the agencys mission to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships so that all youth achieve their full potential!
