Get ready for an exhilarating day of running at the BIRR Hilo Bay 5k and 10k on Saturday, September 7th, 2024! The race kicks off at 7:30 am at Reeds Bay on Banyan Drive, where participants will embark on a scenic route that winds through the beautiful Coconut Island and Lili'uokalani Park.
Whether you’re aiming for the 5K or the more challenging 10K, both races will take you along the picturesque oceanside, finishing back at the starting point. Each finisher will receive a tee-shirt and medal to commemorate their achievement, with awards for overall and age group finishers adding an extra layer of excitement. Enjoy the camaraderie with fellow runners, and take advantage of aid stations and snacks available throughout the course. Be sure to register online before September 6th at 5 pm for a special discount for members of the Big Island Road Runners and students. Organiser's Description
Join us on Saturday, September 7th, 2024. Race will start at 7:30 am at Reeds Bay on Banyan Drive in Hilo and finish back at the same place.
All runners/walkers will head North on Banyan Drive, turn towards Coconut Island and run the oceanside of Lili'uokalani Park, through Bayfront Park towards the "yellow gate", turn around and come back the same way. Those running the 5K will end where we started, those running the 10K will continue onto Kalanianaole Street to the turn around sign and head back the finish line.
Tee-shirts and medals for all finishers. Awards for overall finishers and age group finishers. Aid stations and snacks provided.
Online registration closes on September 6th at 5 pm. Big Island Road Runners (BIRR) members receive a $5.00 discount at registration. Student Discount pricing available:)
Packet pickup and late registration will be at Reeds Bay on September 6th, 2023 between 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm. There will be registration and packet pick-up on race day up until 7:00 am.
