Get ready for an exciting day of fitness and fun at the Capital City Kids Triathlon on Saturday, August 22, 2026! Located at the beautiful Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Ingham, this youth triathlon is designed for kids aged 14 and under, featuring age-appropriate race distances that make it an ideal event for budding athletes.
The triathlon kicks off with a shallow swim in a safe, supervised area, followed by thrilling biking and running segments tailored to each age group. Younger participants (6 and under) will enjoy a 25m swim, a 100m bike ride, and a 100m run, while kids aged 10 and under will take on a 100m swim, a 3-mile bike ride, and a half-mile run. For the older kids (14 and under), the challenge includes a 200m swim, a 4.5-mile bike ride, and a 1-mile run. Every participant will receive a USA Triathlon Youth Annual Membership, along with a race timing, a stylish race t-shirt, finisher medals, a swag bag, downloadable photographs, and tasty after-race snacks. Organiser's Description
Youth Triathlon with age appropriate distances for kids 14 and under. The entire event is contained within Hawk Island Park. The swim is within the pre-set Hawk Island Park swim area with the ability to touch the bottom and with lifeguards present.
Kids 6 and under: 25m shallow swim, 100m bike, 100m run.
Kids 10 and under: 100m shallow swim, 3 mile bike, .5 mile run
Kids 14 and under: 200m swim, 4.5 mile bike, 1 mile run
By participating in this race, all registrants will receive USA Triathlon Youth Annual Membership
Race entry includes race timing, a race Tshirt, finisher medals, swag bag, photographs posted for download and after race snacks.
