SECOND ANNUAL WESTLAKE COMMUNITY RUN
The City of Westlake Community Run is a special event for the whole family being hosted by the Recreation Department and held in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Wellness Day. Come out and enjoy a run or walk through the beautiful City of Westlake and then stay for the Fair! Race begins and ends on the Recreation Center Campus. There will be a timed 5K Run and Speed Walking Division along with an untimed 1-Mile Walk beginning at 8:30am. There will be post-race refreshments, fruits and awards pick-up. Raffle prize winners will be announced during the pancake breakfast. Race shirt will be provided for anyone registering by 9/2/24. Event goody bags guaranteed for the first 200 registered.
New this year we are hosting a pancake breakfast from 9am to 11am following the race catered by Chris Cakes known for their world famous flying flapjacks. Each paid registration comes with a free ticket and all children 5 & under are free, additional tickets can be purchased for $8. We are also hosting a Kids Dash which is free for those 8 years old and under. This dash will kick off at 8:15am before the main race.
This event will also include an Inflatable and DJ. Stay for the Safety & Wellness Fair starting at 10:00am at the Westlake Recreation Center! The fair is hosted by University Hospitals and the City of Westlake. Additional information regarding the fair will be available online soon at www.cityofwestlake.org/recreation.

***Speed walking differs from running in that it requires the competitor to maintain contact with the ground at all times and requires the leading leg to be straightened as the foot makes contact with the ground. It must remain straightened until the leg passes under the body.

Speed Walk - Top 3 men and top 3 women overall. No age groups.
