Organiser's Description
Join the annual Dryden Ugly Sweater 5K set this November in Dryden, NY. This event combines “fun” and “run”. Participants are not required but definitely encouraged to dress in costume (ugly sweaters) for this chilly run/walk. All registered participants will receive a custom race shirt, headband, jingle bell bracelet and finisher medal.
The event will start at the Historical Dryden Hotel (Built in 1844) with most of the run/walk on the new Dryden Rail Trail. This event will benefit the Dryden Rail Trail Revenue Fund as they continue to need funding to complete and improve this beautiful Trail. All donations and a portion of the race proceeds will help this cause.
The 5K race event will start in Montgomery Park located just behind the Dryden Hotel. The first 1/4 mile is on pavement (Elm St.) with the rest of run/walk on the newly established Rail Trail. The Trail is quite wide and flat (total elevation gain is 35 feet). It is mostly a grass trail but there are some gravel paths along the way. Best to wear trail sneakers if you have them.
Post race fun at the Dryden Hotel immediately following your run. They will be serving up both sweet or hot Chili, cornbread and an apple crisp w/ice cream dessert! Beer specials as well. All of this free for event participants.
