There are over 1.2 million people in the DMV region who identify as food insecure. In Fairfax County, there are over 80,000 people who are food insecure alone. With this being one of the most affluent areas in the nation, this news is shocking. Due to the lingering effects of COVID and the impact of inflation, food banks and pantries around the region are seeing the demand for services drastically increase. We need your support now more than ever.
Join us in the race against hunger and for our 10th Annual Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run! Saturday, September 28, 2024 8:00 am start time.
The Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, September 28th brings together the local community for morning spent raising awareness around food insecurity here in NOVA. What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to write inspirational messages that will be shared with students participating in our Power Pack Program that provides weekend meal packs to over 3,500 students EACH week throughout the school year.
LOCATION: Tysons Corner Center, 1961 Chain Bridge Rd., Tysons VA
RACE START TIME: 5K: 8:00AM and the Fun Run: 8:10AM
REGISTRATION:
5K: $35 through Sep 13th $40 Sep 13th - Sept 26th $45 day of (Sept 28th)
1-Mile Fun Run: $30 till Sept 27th $35 day of (Sept 28th)**Fun Run is untimed
Online registration will close at 7:45 am on Saturday, September 28th. If you register on race morning or the night before, please be prepared to show a copy of your confirmation email to the packet pickup staff. In-person registration will be available during packet pick up and race morning.
PACKET PICK-UP: Early Packet pick-up will take place at Road Runner Sports on Friday, September 27th from 3PM to 7PM. The address for Road Runner Sports is: 1120 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046.
Race day pickup will begin at 6:30 am at the Tysons Corner Plaza.
SWAG & Experience:
Race participants will receive a commemorative bib and a 12th Annual Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run commemorative t-shirt! After the race, join us in celebrating 12 years in the race against hunger and celebrate at our race hub. Jam out with our DJ, grab some food/coffee, and visit a variety of our race sponsors!
Be sure to register before September 13th, to guarantee a shirt.
