Join the excitement at the inaugural Freedom 5K/10K Celebration on July 4th, 2025, in Paducah, McCracken! Kick off your Independence Day with a morning full of healthy fun and community spirit at Independence Bank. This family-friendly event invites participants of all ages to run, walk, or cheer as they make their way through picturesque Midtown Paducah.
Both the 5K and 10K races will begin at 8 AM, with the course taking you down Jefferson toward the flood wall. The 5K will turn around near Fountain Avenue, while the 10K will continue further before heading back. All participants will receive vibrant patriotic race gear, and there will be exciting awards for overall and age group winners, along with door prizes for supporters! Best of all, by participating, you’ll be supporting the Wounded Warrior Project, with a portion of proceeds going towards programs that help wounded veterans reintegrate into their communities. Before you go out to celebrate on the 4th of July... spend the morning getting some healthy exercise in a fun family environment! The inaugural Freedom 5k/10k at Independence Bank in Paducah KY, invites you to bring out the family to run, walk, and cheer your way into the holiday! All participants will receive great patriotic race gear, and fun awards will be given out for overall and age group winners at each distance. There will even be door prizes available to family members and supporters!
_ALL COLLECTED DONATIONS AND A PORTION OF RACE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT (WOUNDEDWARRIORPROJECT.ORG). _WWP creates and funds programs that help wounded veterans get back on track and become positive forces in their communities. Please help us reach our goal of $7000 to give just a little back to those who gave so much for us.
Both 5k and 10k races will begin at 8m. Participants will gather in the Independence Bank parking lot on Buckner and Labelle Ave (Midtown Paducah, across from the Coke Plant) and head down Jefferson towards the flood wall. The 5k race will turn around close to Fountain avenue, and the 10k will continue until the turn around point (see course maps for details). Both races will finish back at the bank with high energy, music, friends and awards!
The race cut off is 10:30am, so walkers are welcome to participate!
3 DIVISIONS YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR
WALK: Sign up in the "Walk" division, and go for a great non-competitive morning walk. You can sign up for either distance. Note: there will be no awards given in the walking division.
RUN: The "Run" division is what you would see at most races. While you don't have to run competitively to sign up in this division, there are awards given for overall and age group finishers. The Run division is available in both 5k and 10k distances.
RUCK: The Ruck division requires you to wear a weighted vest or pack (Not provided at the race. You must bring your own). You can Ruck at any pace, and there are overall awards for both the 5k and 10k distances. *** _RUCK WEIGHT: IF YOU WEIGH UNDER 150LBS YOU WILL HAVE TO WEAR A MINIMUM OF A 20LBS WEIGHTED RUCK. IF YOU WEIGHT OVER 150LBS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A 30LBS MINIMUM RUCK._
