Organiser's Description
This fun and inspiring race benefits Ainsley's Angels Michigan and Livingston County Special Olympics. This super flat, paved course is great for runners, walkers and wheeled athletes. The course will cover the Howell High School campus with a start and finish on the track/football field.
The mission of Special Olympics Michigan is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics has an ongoing need to raise funds for rental fees at practice facilities, uniforms and to attend games/tournaments.
Ainsleys Angels celebrates everyones ability by pairing runners with riders. Together, the team works to safely accomplish local road races, while having fun. The Angel Athlete-rider is the core of the team and pulls the runner across the finish line with smiles, cheers and immeasurable inspirational spirit. With the health and well-being of the Angel Athlete-rider as of the foremost priority, Ainsleys Angels provides the equipment to ensure everyone can experience endurance events. Serving as advocates to providing education and participating as active members in our local community, we believe everyone deserves to be included. Funds raised are used to buy specialized racing chairs.
Neither of these charities charge their athletes anything to take part and they survive completely on donations.
Chip timing, post-race snacks, cool swag and raffle prizes will be available. Prizes to the overall male and female winner, everyone is entered into drawings for all other prizes.
Race day sign up is allowed but to guarantee a shirt please sign up by May 18.
Strollers are welcome to take part in the event. Service animals are welcome as well, but please leave all other pets at home.
