Join us for the 47th Annual Indian Gulch Hornitos Run on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the charming town of Hornitos, Mariposa! This exciting road race invites runners of all abilities to experience the stunning beauty of California's foothills. Choose from three exhilarating distances: a 2-mile, 5-mile, or 10-mile out-and-back course along picturesque Hornitos Road, all starting from the scenic Hornitos Central Park.
Participants will enjoy a well-organized event with professional chip timing, aid stations at key points, and a chance to earn unique race-themed awards for top finishers in each age group. Registration is affordable at $40 for pre-registrants, including a continental breakfast and a commemorative T-shirt, with same-day sign-ups available for $50. The legend of Hornitos continues, with the 47th Annual Indian Gulch Hornitos Run hosted by the Merced Running Club. Come run the historic Hornitos foothills on this road race through some of California's most beautiful range land. Select from 2, 5, and 10-mile out & back courses from the town of Hornitos to Indian Gulch.
Join us for this race at the Hornitos Central Park, where you will find the starting line. All three distances are an out-and-back course along Hornitos Road. There will be aid stations at the turnarounds for the 5- and 10-mile distances. The 2-mile turnaround will be clearly marked on Hornitos Road. The total pre-registration fee for all events is $40, which includes all fees. Same-day race registration will be available for $50 per person, race day from 7:00 - 8:00 AM, cash and checks only.
Packet pickup will be held race-day morning from 7:00-8:00 AM at Hornitos Park, near the start line. T-shirts will be given away for all pre-registrations, and available first-come first-serve to same-day registrants. New this year will be professional chipped timing, provided by BizzRunningCompany. Top finishers in each 10-year age group earn a unique, race-themed award! Race registration includes a continental breakfast, and well-stocked aid stations at the 5- and 10-mile turnarounds. This year, proceeds continue to benefit the Mariposa High School Track Team, and additional donations can be made directly to the track team through this website.
This is a plastic-cup-less event. Please bring your own cups and/or drinking bottles for water at aid stations. Also - as much as we love babies and dogs, we do not recommend them for this race as it is run on an open road with a narrow shoulder. Walkers are welcome on the 2 and 5 mile course; 10-mile participants should be ready to run!
Golden Horseshoe Awards go to the first male & female finishers in all age divisions: 1-9/10-19/20-19/30-39/40-49/50-59/60-69/70+

The race starts in the town of Hornitos near the Hornitos Stagg Hall (2884 Bear Valley Rd, Hornitos, CA 95325). If coming from Merced, take Snelling Rd to Merced Falls Rd to Hornitos Rd. If coming from Mariposa, take either Old Toll Rd to Hornitos Rd or Hwy 140 to Hornitos Rd.
