Join us for the 12th Annual Jadon's Hope 5K Bug Run on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Olathe, Johnson! This vibrant event not only offers participants the chance to run a 5K or take part in the Bitty Bug Run, but also provides a platform to support the Jadon's Hope Foundation in its quest to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The 5K race kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by the Bitty Bug Run around 9:15 AM, making it a perfect day for families and friends to come together for a worthy cause.
Packet pickup will be held at Rolling Ridge Elementary School on April 5 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on race day from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM. This uplifting event honors the lives of SMA warriors and aims to raise awareness and funds for research efforts. Whether you choose to run in person or participate virtually, your involvement will help make a significant impact in the fight against SMA. The 12th Annual Jadons Hope Bug Run/Walk is on a quest to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Jadon, a 9th grade student at Olathe West High School and formerly at Oregon Trail Middle School and Rolling Ridge Elementary, has been living with SMA since he was born. Please join us as We Run to End SMA and support The Bug aka Jadon.
Jadon Burks; aka The BUG was diagnosed with the terminal disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) on his 2 month Birthday. The news was overwhelming (to say the least) and while Jadons parents, Tony and Kristin, felt hopeless they were surrounded by incredible people, given good information, and became a part of an amazing SMA family. While they battle this disease daily they hope to help others facing this seemingly devastating diagnosis. Jadons Hope was formed to make an impact in the fight against SMA and to help families Dance in the Rain.
Our Mission: Jadons Hope Foundation strives to promote educational awareness and fund research efforts for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the #1 genetic killer of infants under the age of two, while also providing support for families affected by terminal childhood diseases.
