Training for a big race takes more than logging miles. It takes a smart plan, the right support and people who know how to help you run steady through the tough weeks and the good ones too.
Thats what youll find in Fleet Feet Knoxville's Long Distance Training Program in partnership with ASICS.
With two supported workouts each week, beginner and intermediate training tiers and running coaches who bring real expertise to every step, youll have what you need to train with purpose and finish with confidence.
This isnt just about running a half marathon. Its about discovering what youre capable of with the right people beside you every step of the way.
Long distance training isnt just about logging miles. Its about learning to challenge yourself incrementally, tackling different types of runs, building strength and making space for rest and recovery. Bond with other runners, learn and improve together and receive plenty of support from Fleet Feet coaches along the way. To join the half marathon training program you should be able to run/walk 5 miles. For the 10k training program you should be able to run/walk 2 miles.
START DATE: Week of Mon Aug 24
Q&A SESSION: Thursday, August 13th at 6:30pm or Thursday, August 20th. at 6:30pm.
2 GEAR-UP WEEKS: The first 2 weeks of training, all participants receive in-store discounts on any gear needed to get ready to train - from footwear to bras to hydration.
WORKOUTS: Tuesdays at 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 7:00 AM starting the week of Aug 24th. Additional training opportunities by joining us for our Open Group Runs on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.
TARGET RACE: Loop Lope 10 Miler on Sunday, November 8th. Additional Options - Veteran Salute 10k/5k on November 7th or Secret City Half Marathon on November 14th
PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE: A complete Training Program and calendar with detailed workouts, Gear-up weeks; weekly coach-led training sessions with hydration provided, series of seminars on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, and stretching, weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement, e-mail support the coach will answer individual questions regarding training and running related issues, weekly Group Runs available from Fleet Feet Knoxville, technical fiber shirt, and _DISCOUNTED ENTRY_ to the goal race.
FFKR DISCOUNT: FFKR members receive _HALF OFF_ discount on the training program fee.
