Making the Miles is a physical and virtual motivation community where you work towards running or walking 1000 miles in a year. No matter where you are, keep yourself moving all year long to hit your mileage goals and earn some prizes along the way!
You will be admitted into the private Garmin group where you can see the leaderboard and compete with people around you, or just use it to motivate yourself to keep climbing!
Pick up some awesome running essentials along the way as you reach milestones, and if you sign up before March 31, youll receive a special prize just for signing up! Prizes are awarded at 250, 500, and 750 miles, and if you hit 1,000 miles, youll earn the super-massive-amazing Fleet Feet belt buckle!

All miles walked/ran in 2026 count, no matter when you join. You can keep track of your miles manually or automatically from Garmin. If you want Garmin to keep track of your activity automatically, all of your activities need to be set as "Run" (i.e. don't use "Treadmill" or "Trail Run" etc.) Please request access to join the Garmin group to see the leaderboard and track prize markers: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/group/4915398/challenges/2E4C9A7A960C47789F183AE92408DD77 Any time you have hit a milestone, you can come pick up your prize at the store, or you can retrieve your prizes at the end of the year.
