Organiser's Description
This race will take you on a tour of the mountains of NC that were decimated by Hurricane Helene. Run through forests where almost all trees were knocked down. A view of the destruction like nothing you have ever seen. This race will be run on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Helene's entrance into North Carolina. Bakersville is a small community nestled within the beautiful borders of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course will be the cross country trail that the High School runs in the fall, and part of the preparation for this race includes clearing that trail so that they will have a place to run. All profits from this race will go towards replacing the playgrounds in Mitchell County, one of the hardest hit counties in North Carolina.

This is an 8 hour race. You can run/walk as many times around the course as you can in the 8 hour race time. Dress up, dress down, come with friends, or use it as a training run for your next ultra. Course will be through Hurricane affected areas. Caution is advised.
