Get ready for a pawsitively fantastic day at the Run Your Mutt 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk/Run on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in beautiful Madisonville, Monroe! This exciting event, sponsored by Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA), invites animal lovers and community members to come together for a worthy cause while enjoying the great outdoors. Participants can choose between a spirited 5K run or a leisurely 1-mile walk/run along the scenic paved path around the picturesque lake at Kefauver Park.
Bring your furry friends along—dogs are encouraged but not required to join in the fun! The race will kick off with the 5K starting at 9:00 AM and the 1-mile event beginning at 9:30 AM. As a bonus, all participants will receive a stylish event T-shirt and a SWAG bag, while the top three male and female finishers will earn coveted winner medals. Plus, if you’ve adopted your dog from the Monroe County Animal Shelter, don’t forget to grab a special Alumni Bandana for your pup! Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) is sponsoring their second annual 5K and 1-mile walk/run. MCFA is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing for and continuously improving the health, happiness, and fortune of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats in Monroe County. Join us for this family friendly event that brings together animal lovers, runners, walkers, and community members to support this very worthy cause. Take your choice of a 5K run or a one mile walk/run with your dog on a paved path around the lake at Kefauver Park in Madisonville. Dogs are encouraged, but not required to participate! Event timing will be provided by East Coast Adventures. Winner medals to be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers. All participants will receive an event T-shirt and a SWAG bag. If you adopted your dog from Monroe County Animal Shelter you will receive a special Alumni Bandana for your dog. Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 am. 5K race start time is 9:00 am. 1-mile walk/run starts at 9:30 am.
Please note that Kefauver Park is not closed to other guests on our event date. We may encounter other runners or walkers on race day.

Dogs are required to be on-leash at all times. Multiple water stations will be available for both humans and dogs, and poop bags will be provided. Kefauver Park is not closed to other users on our event date. You may encounter other other runners or walkers on the lake trail. -
