Organiser's Description

To celebrate World Mental Health Day join Victoria Huber, Marine Plastics Ambassador for EarthEcho International, in an inspiring movement called Running for Climate Optimism! From now until October 31st, this initiative will combine the power of running with the power of hope to promote climate positivity and support the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act.

This year's theme for World Mental Health Day is "Access to Services Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies".
This theme emphasizes the critical need to provide and maintain mental health services for those impacted by crises, such as natural disasters, conflicts, and other emergencies. It ties really well because the amount of natural disasters has increased and surely it is connected with the health of the Ocean.

Climate news is often overwhelming and discouragingbut together, we can shift the narrative. Inspired by The Climate Optimist Handbook by Anne Therese Gennari, this project highlights positive environmental progress through weekly climate optimism updates while encouraging participants to take action through running and advocacy.

Running doesnt just keep our bodies strongit releases endorphins, reduces stress, and fosters resilience. By pairing running with climate optimism, we remind ourselves that change is possible when we act from a place of hope instead of fear.
