Each participant will receive a complimentary race t-shirt and bib, along with refreshments before and after the race. The event kicks off with registration from 8 AM to 8:30 AM at the Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz, followed by the race start at 9 AM and an awards ceremony at 10 AM. RUN, WALK, OR STROLL THROUGH THE CITY OF NEWBURGH IN SAFE HARBORS ANNUAL CHARITY 5K! With a course that features the incredible architecture of Newburghs historic district and stunning Hudson River views, this community-centered race is fun for runners and non-runners of all ages.
The Run for the Green 5K will benefit Safe Harbors Green [https://safe-harbors.org/safe-harbors/safeharbors-green/], a vibrant park on the corner of Broadway and Liberty that hosts an array of community events and performances throughout the year. From the weekly Newburgh Farmers Market to Salsa Under the Stars, outdoor movies to the annual Ritz Kidz Circus, Safe Harbors Green is a center of activity and community in Newburgh. 100% of event proceeds will support annual maintenance of the Green, capital improvements, and free summer programming in the park.
The Run for the Green is part of _SPRING INTO NEWBURGH_, a city-wide celebration of the season featuring special events, workshops, tastings, and the Art on the Block outdoor art market. Safe Harbors Green will host the Newburgh Farmers Market and Wellness Shines on the Green, a festival highlighting local wellness vendors and free fitness classes throughout the day. Come for the run and stay for the fun!
