Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the ninth annual SIUE Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run on Saturday, September 27, 2025! Taking place on the picturesque SIUE campus in Edwardsville, Madison, this exciting event is part of the Celebrate Cougar Nation: SIUE Homecoming and Family Weekend. Participants can choose to join in-person or virtually, with race distances including a 10K, 5K, and fun runs.
Kick off the festivities at 9 a.m. as you run through the scenic Stratton Quad, surrounded by fellow community members, students, and alumni. Not only will you enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast from Chris Cakes and post-run refreshments for those 21 and over, but your participation will also support the SIUE Alumni Association Scholarship and Programs, which awards over $20,000 annually to deserving students. Whether you choose to run on the day of the event or complete your distance virtually, your involvement will help shape the future of SIUE and foster a strong alumni community. Join us for a memorable day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie!

Join the SIUE Alumni Association for the ninth annual Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run as part of Celebrate Cougar Nation: SIUE Homecoming and Family Weekend. Named the Final Lap Race Management's Best Directed event, this year's run offers both in-person and virtual 10K, 5K and fun runs. Community members, students and alumni are encouraged to participate. Run proceeds will go to the SIUE Alumni Association Scholarship and Programs. The SIUE Alumni Scholarship Fund proudly awards over $20,000 each year to incoming and current SIUE students. Your support will help our campus community define the future of SIUE and provide Alumni programming.
WANT TO JOIN US ON CAMPUS FOR THE IN-PERSON RUN?
* The in-person run will take place on Saturday, September 27 on the beautiful SIUE campus with start and finish location in the SIUE Stratton Quad.
* The first run will begin at 9 a.m
* All registered in-person runners will receive a complimentary pancake breakfast from Chris Cakes, post-run beer from Global Brew (runners 21 and over).
NEED TO RUN VIRTUALLY?
* The virtual run can be completed anytime and anywhere on September 27!
* Register for a virtual 10K, 5K or 1 mile and invite your friends to join!
* Run/walk the distance inside on your treadmill or outside on a course of your choosing anytime on October 5.
* Report your time using the special link that is emailed to you after you register.
* Send a run selfie to [email protected] to be featured in a post-event video montage.
