Bring your family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and pets and join us for St. Edward Schools 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run Event! Start a team, join an existing team, or participate as an individual.
"Run through a scenic 5K trail circling Quarry Lakes Park. Please note that the course is not USATF certified. The distance has been measured and is approximate. No bikes or skateboards are allowed on the course. Walkers follow the same course as runners. This is a non-competitive Walk/Run event; however, you are welcome to use your own timer to assess your speed. After crossing the finish line, join us for a celebratory picnic with music, silent auction, and raffle, if you pre ordered lunch, it will ready and waiting your appetite!"
All proceeds from this 5K will support the ongoing operations and maintenance of St. Edward School that make quality education possible.

GETTING THERE
From I-880 in Fremont, take the Decoto Road exit east and proceed to Paseo Padre Parkway. Turn right on Paseo Padre, then left on Isherwood Way. Proceed to the park entrance on the right.
From Mission Blvd (Hwy. 238) in Fremont, turn south on Nursery Ave. (away from the hills) and right (west) on Niles Blvd. Turn left on Osprey Drive and left on Quarry Lakes Drive. Proceed to the park entrance on the left.

PARKING
There are plenty of parking spots at the park. There is a parking fee at this park so please be prepared with payment. Please review park details at the site: https://www.ebparks.org/parks/quarry-lakes
The St Edward School 5K Registration desk is located in the Ensenada South Picnic Area and there is a parking lot close to it. However if the lot is full, there is additional parking close to Niles Beach.
OF NOTE: due to the high traffic that will be expected, please plan ahead to come early.
RACE PACKET PICKUP
April 11 2025 between 5 PM - 9 PM we will have a kick off meeting pre-race day to pick up any last minute race packets at Billy Roys (3909 Thornton Ave, Fremont, CA 94536). Come join us if you have questions.
Your race packet will include:
* Race Bib
* Safety pins to attach the bib to your clothing
* Commemorative Shirt
* Food Ticket for those who pre-ordered
* Columbia Employee Invitation Pass to the Columbia Employee store
PLEASE PRESENT A COPY OF YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION AND AN ID AT THE REGISTRATION DESK TO PICK UP YOUR BIBS. You may also pick up bibs for another participant, but please make sure you present their order confirmation. You will be responsible for getting the bibs to the participant.
COURSE
* The 5K course runs through the packed gravel trails circling through Quarry Lakes Park. Please note that the course is not USATF certified.
* The distance has been measured and is approximate.
* Please make sure your bib number is clearly displayed on your chest before arriving at the assembly area near the start line.
* The start waves will take place from 8.30am to 9:30 am with short gaps in between to allow the course ahead to clear, meaning walkers & runners have plenty of space along the course.
* If you can not join an earlier start wave, you can always join a later start wave
* No bikes or skateboards are allowed on the course.
* Walkers follow the same course as runners.
* Please stay on the trails, taking shortcuts can be dangerous and cause erosion.
* We encourage you to wear proper walking/running shoes and dress in layers.
* Keep the park beautiful, leave no trace except your footprints.
* Please dispose of water bottles, cups and other waste at garbage bins throughout the trail.
* All dogs must be on a leash and with their owners at all times for the safety of all participants. Please remember to pick up after your dog.
OTHER AMENITIES
* Water stations will be located close to every mile marker
* First aid will be available at every Water station and also at the Registration/Check in desk
* The park has several restrooms that will be available for your use.
FINISHER MEDALS
Your finisher medals can be picked up after the race at the designated finish line table.

SILENT AUCTION AND RAFFLE BASKET PRIZE
Annual St. Edward Walk / Run Event will hold a silent auction and raffle draw for baskets and will be held after the race. Raffle basket ticket holders need not be present to win. If the raffle winner is not present, they will be notified via email and phone call within the week after the 5K.

Please note this is our first ever 5K and is mostly volunteer run and it is our goal to ensure that you have a wonderful walkathon experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please do reach out to one of our volunteers and they will be happy to assist you.
