Kick off the New Year with a burst of energy at the Swarthmore Recreation Association’s New Year's Day 5K on Thursday, January 1, 2026! This exciting event takes place in the charming borough of Swarthmore, Delaware, and invites participants of all ages to walk or jog through a scenic USTAF-certified 5K course. Starting near the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse, the route winds through town and concludes on the Swarthmore College Track, promising a delightful experience for all.
In addition to the main event, families can enjoy a fun and free kids dash at 11:30 AM, making this a perfect day for everyone to celebrate together. On race day, registration and bib pickup will be available from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Inn at Swarthmore, with the 5K starting promptly at 10:00 AM. Participants will receive a long sleeve tech shirt and can refuel with light snacks and refreshments. KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH THE SWARTHMORE RECREATION ASSOCIATION!
The SRA New Year's Day 5K is a fun Swarthmore tradition that the whole family can enjoy. Ring in the new year walking or jogging through our beautiful borough of Swarthmore. Our USTAF-certified 5K course begins near the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse, winds through town, and ends on the Swarthmore College Track. A fun kids dash (free, no registration required) will take place at 11:30am.
BIB AND SHIRT PICK UP:
For racers registered by December 30th, you can pick up your bib (and shirt) on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bryn Mawr Running Company in Media, PA.
CHILD WATCH:
Do you and your backup kid-watcher both want to run? Onsite babysitting will be provided by SRAs teen sports mentors for potty-trained youngsters aged 4-12 in the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse.
