Kick off the New Year with excitement at the Swarthmore Recreation Association's New Year's Day 5K on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in beautiful Swarthmore, Delaware! This family-friendly event is perfect for all ages, allowing you to walk or jog through the charming streets of Swarthmore. The USTAF-certified 5K course begins near the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse, winds through town, and concludes on the Swarthmore College Track. Not only is there a 5K, but a delightful kids dash will also take place at 11:30 AM, which is free and requires no registration!
Make sure to arrive early for onsite registration and bib/shirt pickup, available from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Inn at Swarthmore. The race starts at 10:00 AM, followed by the kids dash at 11:00 AM. Enjoy light snacks and refreshments while you celebrate the New Year with fellow participants. Registration prices range from $20.25 to $40, depending on when you sign up, and all registrants will receive a long sleeve tech shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, as well

The SRA New Year's Day 5K is a fun Swarthmore tradition that the whole family can enjoy. Ring in the new year walking or jogging through our beautiful borough of Swarthmore. Our USTAF-certified 5K course begins near the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse, winds through town, and ends on the Swarthmore College Track. A fun kids dash (free, no registration required) will take place at 11:30am.
BIB AND SHIRT PICK UP:
For racers registered by December 30th, you can pick up your bib (and shirt) on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bryn Mawr Running Company in Media, PA.
CHILD WATCH:
Do you and your backup kid-watcher both want to run? Onsite babysitting will be provided by SRAs teen sports mentors for potty-trained youngsters aged 4-12 in the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse.
