The day begins at 9:00 AM with registration and packet pick-up, followed by opening comments at 10:00 AM, and the run/walk starts at 10:30 AM. After the race, enjoy complimentary hot dogs, chips, and beverages while celebrating the achievements of the participants with awards for various age groups. JOIN US FOR TURNING POINT'S ANNUAL TARA'S 5K RUN & WALK.

You're invited to participate in Turning Point's signature event kicking off domestic violence awareness month which is observed in October. This event is Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Freedom Hill County Park located at 14900 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights, MI, 48312.

$30.00 EARLY REGISTRATION NOW - JULY 31, 2024, $35.00 REGISTRATION AUGUST 1, 2024 - SEPT 20, 2024, $40.00 REGISTRATION AT THE EVENT.

ABOUT TARA: Turning Point and Tara's sister formed a partnership to honor her memory after Tara was tragically murdered in Macomb County by her husband in 2007. Sharing Tara's life story through this partnership increases awareness about the prevalence and dangers of domestic violence and helps prevent other families from experiencing a similar tragedy.

ABOUT TURNING POINT: Turning Point provides comprehensive, free, and confidential programs for domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking survivors, their loved ones, and the community. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, housing, trauma advocacy/counseling, personal protection order assistance, legal advocacy, forensic nurse exams, first response advocacy, prevention, and community education. Second Hand Rose, another Turning Point service, provides survivors with gently used items while providing an opportunity for the community to donate and shop. Serving Metro Detroit for more than 44 years, Turning Point has helped over 125,000 survivors.
