The Gleaners Community Food Bank is thrilled to host this event as part of their Hunger Free Summer campaign, which aims to provide meals for children who may otherwise go hungry when school is out. Every dollar raised through registrations and donations will help provide six meals to families in need, making your participation even more impactful.
Early registration for the 5K is just $30 until June 8, with the option to secure a race shirt, while the 1-mile fun run/walk is available for only $25. There will be exciting awards for the top finishers in various age categories, and the race will be chip-timed for accurate results. GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK is excited to announce the 2025 HUNGER FREE SUMMER 5K RUN AND WALK! With the support of our incredible community, Gleaners continues to work toward our mission of creating a food-secure Southeast Michigan.
When school is out, many children lose access to the meals they rely on, but the Hunger Free Summer campaign helps bridge that gap. Gleaners can provide 3 meals for every dollar donated. Thanks to a match from Citizens and other generous donors, for every dollar raised through run registrations or donations, Gleaners can provide six meals to families facing hunger.
Please join us as we race toward a food-secure community on SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2025, at Freedom River in Brighton, Michigan.
PRICING:
5K RUN/WALK early registration including shirt $30 until 6/08, then $35 with limited shirt sizes available. $40 on race day with no shirt.
1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK early registration including shirt $25 until 6/08, then $30 with limited shirt sizes available. $35 on race day with no shirt. (please note the 1 mile run/walk is an untimed event)
AWARDS: Running Lab gift certificates to the Overall Male and Female finishers. Awards to the top 3 in age groups (male and female) 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

COURSE: Cross country type course including trails, fields, pavement with slight hills. Race is chipped timed.
RESULTS: The race will be professionally timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION. Results are live during the event and posted on this website.
