The training program features an organized series of speedwork sessions at the Carver Center for Arts and Technology Track on Thursdays at 7:00 PM and long runs at the picturesque Loch Raven Reservoir on Saturdays at 7:00 AM. With an emphasis on community and camaraderie, this group is ideal for both first-time half marathoners and seasoned runners wanting to boost their performance. Participants should ideally have a base of running at least 6 miles, but donβt worryβlong runs will start at 5 miles. Best of all, registration is completely free! Organiser's Description
Come join our RRCA certified coaches as we launch our Fall Long Run Training Program. We will be following a half marathon training plan with the goal race of the Baltimore Running Festival Half Marathon, but you do not need to sign up for this race to participate in our group.
Join us for a FREE organized series of speedwork and long runs. We do hope you will become a member of the BRRC, but all are welcome. Note that registration for the Baltimore Half Marathon is NOT included, and you are encouraged to sign up if you plan this as a goal race.
TRAINING GROUP DETAILS:
Training plan start date: August 1, 2024
Speed work: Carver Center for Arts and Technology Track 938 York Rd, Baltimore, MD 21204
Day: Thursdays at 7:00PM.
Long runs: Loch Raven Reservoir (LRR) Corner of Morgan Mill Road & Loch Raven Drive
Day: Saturdays at 7:00AM
It is recommended that you have run at least 6 miles but all levels are welcome. Long runs will begin at 5 miles.
This is a great group for first time half marathoners as well as experienced runners who are looking to improve their race time or run a new distance. It is also a great way to get involved with the club and meet other runners in our community.
Registration is FREE.
