Join the fun at CHASE THE SHADOW, a free, untimed fun run/walk/roll event organized by Getting Miles Athletic Club. Taking place on Sunday, May 11th, 2025 in Fort Wayne, Allen, participants of all fitness levels are welcome to join in on the 5k route. The goal is simple - finish the route before the shadow catches up to you! With only 88 spots available, be sure to register early. Trophies will be awarded to the first place male and female finishers, as well as the first place boy and girl under 13. Dress in black and get ready to chase the shadow at 1:00pm, with awards starting at 2pm. Don't forget to share your adventure on social media and join Getting Miles Athletic Club for more exciting events in the future. CHASE THE SHADOW IS A FREE, UNTIMED FUN RUN/WALK/ROLL THAT IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF ALL FITNESS LEVELS.
Registration is limited to a crazy 88 participants.
HOW DOES IS WORK?
THE RULES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE. JUST FINISH THE 5K ROUTE BEFORE THE SHADOW.
PARTICIPANTS WILL FOLLOW A BICYCLE LEAD ON A ROUTE THAT FOLLOWS THE FORT WAYNE TRAILS NETWORK.
THE ROUTE WILL BE CLEARLY AND MARKED, BUT WE WONT HAVE POLICE PRESENCE SO BE SURE TO FOLLOW TRAFFIC LAWS AT ROAD CROSSINGS!
FUN TROPHIES GO TO THE FIRST PLACE MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS AND FIRST PLACE PLACE BOY AND GIRL (UNDER 13) FINISHERS.
THE SHADOW LAUNCHES AT 1:00PM.
WE LAUNCH AT 1:05PM
AWARDS BEGIN AT 2PM.
SO PUT ON YOU BEST NINJA SUIT, COOL TUXEDO T-SHIRT, OR SIMPLY A BLACK T-SHIRT.
CHASE THE SHADOW IS THE ONLY TIME THAT WE ENCOURAGE WALKERS AND RUNNERS TO DRESS IN BLACK.
CHASE THE SHADOW IS AN UNTIMED FUN RUN.
WE WILL HAVE A RACE CLOCK ON SITE IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR TIME.

Chase the Shadow will start and finish in West Swinney Park. Participants will follow a bicycle lead through the park and onto the sidewalks of Historic West Central Fort Wayne and back to West Swinney Park
