This grassroots trail running celebration is designed for runners, trail enthusiasts, and community members alike to unite and support the beautiful Colby Mountain trail system. Participants can choose from multiple race distances, including 5k, 12k, and 24k, making it accessible for everyone from beginners to seasoned runners.
Not only will you get to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, but your participation also directly contributes to the ongoing development and maintenance of these trails! Every mile run helps support local non-profits like Chico Velo Trailworks, Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue, and Bidwell Run Club, ensuring the trails remain safe and sustainable for all outdoor lovers. Each registered runner will receive a stylish T-shirt, a medal, and a reusable Hydrapak cup, while awards will be given to the top three men and women, as well as top age group finishers.

Welcome to Colby Mountain Trailfest
A grassroots trail running celebration put together by Butte County Sheriff Search & Rescue, Chico Velo TrailWorks, and Bidwell Run Club. We are bringing together runners, trail advocates, and community members to experience and support the incredible Colby Mountain trail system.
This event was created with a simple mission: give back to the trails that bring our community together. Every mile run helps support the ongoing development, maintenance, and stewardship of the Colby Mountain trails. Net proceeds from the race will be split equally and directly benefit three local non-profits: Chico Velo Trailworks, Butte County Sheriff Search and Rescue, and Bidwell Run Club -helping ensure these trails remain safe, sustainable, and accessible for runners, hikers, and cyclists for years to come.
Colby Mountain Trailfest blends endurance sport with environmental stewardship, creating an event where participants are not only racing through beautiful terrain but also investing in the future of the trails themselves. By participating, you become part of a growing movement focused on community, sustainability, and responsible trail use.
