Join us for the 3rd Annual Miles of Memories 5K on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the vibrant city of Fenton, St. Louis. This uplifting event pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of Captain Andrew Allman, who bravely battled cancer while inspiring those around him. Participants can choose to walk or run in honor of Andrew's legacy, with a race distance of 5 kilometers that encourages everyone—whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual walker—to get involved.
This year, the event will feature both an in-person experience and a virtual option for those who can't make it to Fenton but still want to participate. Registration will remain open until the evening before the race, but be sure to sign up by August 17th to guarantee your event T-shirt! Organiser's Description
In December of 2021, Captain Andrew Allman was suddenly and abruptly diagnosed with stage four gastric adenocarcinoma, a cancer attributed to his exposure to burn pits from his deployment with the U.S. Army to Baghdad, Iraq eleven years prior. Andrew valiantly fought this aggressive cancer for seven months. Unfortunately, on Fathers Day, June 19 of 2022, he passed away, leaving behind his wife of almost fourteen years, Sarah, and their three school-aged children. Despite the aggressiveness of the cancer and the harsh side effects of the chemotherapy, Andrew resolved to fight with everything he had. At the time of his diagnosis, he was bedridden, but perseverance and determination allowed him to regain some strength and he was able to go on walks during his "rally-period." At one point, he managed to walk three miles in one day with Sarah by his side. His drive to overcome the obstacles he faced are the inspiration behind this 5k.
