This year’s event honors the legacy of Dave Hortman, a distinguished U.S. Army Captain and an inspiring leader who dedicated his life to encouraging others to be fit and engaged. The PBS Run to Remember not only promotes fitness but also raises funds for scholarships for the esteemed Palmetto Boys State leadership program. Runners of all ages can compete in various race distances, with exciting prizes for both male and female participants across multiple age groups, along with a special award for the largest team affiliation. THIS EVENT IS BEING BROUGHT TO YOU BY FRIENDS OF BOYS STATE (FOBS), ANDERSON UNIVERSITY, AND LOCAL SPONSORS IN AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PALMETTO BOYS STATE, THE PREMIER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IN THE NATION.
THE RUN WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE ROADS OF ANDERSON UNIVERSITY AND THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS ON SATURDAY MORNING, JUNE 7TH, 2025.

DAVE SERVED OUR COUNTRY IN SO MANY WAYS AND WAS ONE OF THE ARMY'S MOST DISTINGUISHED ELITE HELICOPTER PILOTS. A DECORATED U.S. ARMY CAPTAIN, DAVE CHALLENGED OTHERS TO LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST, TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT, AND TO FIND WAYS TO SUPPORT THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM THAT HE LOVED AND SERVED, PALMETTO BOYS STATE. DAVE'S LEGACY CONTINUES TO INSPIRE US TODAY.
YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN IN THE EFFORT TO SUPPORT PALMETTO BOYS STATE!
