Runners are encouraged to don their best Mardi Gras attire to add to the celebration.
This year’s Mardi Gras Mile promises not only fun but also a great cause, as proceeds will benefit the We Can Be Association, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting exceptional children in Eastern NC. Registration is just $20 per participant until February 1, 2025, and increases to $25 until race day. Participants will enjoy a customized Mardi Gras bead and a drink ticket as part of their registration. Awards will be presented for top finishers in various categories, ensuring a spirit of competition and community. Join us for a day filled with color, camaraderie, and purpose at the Mardi Gras Mile!

Organiser's Description
This is our 3rd annual Mardi Gras Mile that will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00am to kickoff the New Bern Mardi Gras Festival in Historic Ghent. This will give our racers a one-of-a-kind experience to run through the streets with the crowd lined up to cheer them on. Racers are encouraged to wear their best Mardi Gras Attire. Race information and runner registration will be through Run the East (runtheeast.com).
Proceeds from this race will benefit the We Can Be Association. The We Can Be Association is a local non-profit organization that provides assistance for equipment funding, therapy scholarships, and family/caregiver education to exceptional children in Eastern NC. We will be opening a Children's Museum and Enrichment Center in New Bern, NC to continue our mission of supporting children and families.
REGISTRATION:
$20 per participant until 2/1/2025, then increases to $25 per participant until race day on 3/1/2025.

Packet pick-up will be at the start line the day of the race starting at 10am. Same day registration closes at 10:40 am.
There will be road closures due to the festival and parade. Parking is available at Temple Church (1500 Kingdom Way, New Bern) that can be best accessed from Rhem St. Please allow yourself enough time to get to the start line.
Once results are available following the race, awards will be announced at the main festival stage.
