Organiser's Description

The Alderley Edge 10k, supporting the Roy Castle Lung Caner Foundation, is an amazing opportunity to run the Alderley Edge bypass whilst totally closed to all traffic. The race is on smooth tarmac away from Wilmslow, and back along on the same route. With only gentle undulations, this promises fast times for club and fun runners alike, with PB potential. All finishers will receive a high quality bespoke medal and a commemorate training top.

We also have a 1mile kids' run, with 100% of the entry going to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer charity. When entering please consider agreeing to fundraise for the charity.

Perfect place to get a PB. My first time doing this event and I loved it so much, I already signed up for 2020! It’s a great course. Not completely flat and slightly undulating in places, however it’s a perfect place to get a PB and I did just that! I shaved 2 minutes off my previous PB and was over the moon! It’s extremely well organised and all the staff made the runners feel so welcome and encouraged. I can’t wait for next year!

Great 10k time trial. Gently undulating this is never flat but not hilly enough to be tough. It’s tarmac, so a fast running surface - definitely one for a PB. Parking is adequate, start, HQ and toilets in good locations and most importantly there are 2000 happy people there. The good news is it’s on in May next year so we avoid the heat of July!

Fantastic event. My first official 10k that I have done in preparation for my first half marathon. I found it to be a very well organised event. Very professional and hassle free which helped reduced any pre race nerves. It was turned in to a fun event with a great atmosphere. My next races have a lot to live up to as I see what a high standard this was!
