Phoenix Running Hampshire is inviting you to join us along The Itchen Way in Winchester for our event 'Anniversary Bash' to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The course has been professionally measured and has a Road Permit for this event. So, if you need a 'Road Marathon', or simply want to run on a beautiful smooth course without getting your trainers all muddy, then please join us. It's always a party with Phoenix. There will be a selection of pick n mix medals from all our events over the past year to choose from.
This is one of our timed events where you choose from one 2.62 mile out/back, to as many as you wish in 7 hours. The course is an out/back along the beautiful Itchen Way, crossing over the Hockley Viaduct, and back. Five for a Half Marathon, ten for a Marathon, and eleven or more for an Ultra. There's no need to decide how far you're going to run in advance, see how you feel on the day and then decide. We welcome all abilities of runners - complete one lap and you're a winner in our eyes or keep going and see how far you can get in the full 7 hour time limit and everyone gets a beautiful bespoke medal. Our aid station is also famous for all its sweet and savoury goodies and signature POTATOES, we will always provide plenty of Vegan options too, so you won't go hungry!
We operate our uniquely flexible rock up and run start times, so no waiting around if you arrive early and no added pressure if you're running a bit late. The official start time is at 0800, but you are welcome to start anytime up till 1300. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the distance of your choice, as the course will close at 1500. The event will be based by the Garnier Road Car Park, with ample parking available a short 3 - 4 minute walk away at the St. Catherine's Park & Ride.
The postcode for your sat nav for parking is SO23 9NP which is the East Winchester Park & Ride (St. Catherine's). Look for 'Area 5' which is the closest to Park & Ride toilets and the start. Parking charges apply on Saturdays (Sundays are free) which is £3.50 for the day, or £1.80 for up to 3 hours. Payment can be made via Ringo (location code is 2547) or pay with via contactless.
Places will be strictly limited so don't leave it too late to enter.
