This stunning event, courtesy of the Ashbourne Running Club, takes place in the picturesque town of Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The half marathon course winds through the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, offering breathtaking views and a challenging race experience. Participants can also opt to take part in a 5K Fun Run on the day. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to top finishers, with medals for all Fun Run participants. One of the most beautiful racing challenges you will ever delight in; allow us to present the Ashbourne Half Marathon, courtesty of the Ashbourne Running Club.

This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.
Event Overview:
The course will take you through the fabulous Derbyshire Dales and back to the historic market town of Ashbourne, a place beloved of Jane Austen. The views are breathtaking and the racing is superlative; you won't want to miss this one. We can't wait to welcome you to the start line!
There is the option to pre-purchase a bespoke two colour commemorative mug illustrated with the course profile.
Our mug can be pre-ordered with your race entry for just £5 and you’ll be able to collect it from our stand after you finish the race.
Deadline for ordering the mug is Sunday, June 4th.
Course Details:
The route starts on the Market Place, does a loop around Belle Vue Road, back into town, up the Market Place again before heading into Mappleton. Continue through Mappleton and up to Spend Lane and along to Thorpe, Ilam and Blore. From there enjoy a quick there and back through Okeover park before heading back into Mappleton. We will then turn off Mappleton Road at the Bike Hire car park and run back into Ashbourne through the tunnel. You will re-enter town via Church Lane and race the short finish along the Recreation Ground. We welcome runners of all abilities but please note we have a time limit on the course of 3 hours. A 5K Fun Run starts at 9.40am and uses playing fields & paths on the recreation ground and memorial gardens. It is entry on-the-day only.
