ATW Welwyn Half Marathon & 10k

Join us this autumn for the ever-popular Welwyn Half Marathon and 10k, which starts and finishes on the impressive 400m athletics track at Gosling Sports Park.

The half marathon takes you out of the stadium and through the leafy outskirts of Welwyn before leading onto the Cole Green Way, a disused railway line transformed into a peaceful, traffic-free path. After a short loop, you’ll rejoin the Cole Green Way and follow it back, finishing with a triumphant lap of the track.

The multi-terrain 10k begins alongside the half marathon and shares the same opening 5km, before branching off on its own loop and returning to the stadium for a memorable finish.

Taking place in autumn, the event offers ideal running conditions. The race begins at 9:30am, with a three-hour cut-off time, after which marshals and signage will no longer be available.

Fun Run - Fifteen minutes before the main event, children can enjoy a free 400m fun run on the track. There’s no need to book in advance—simply register on the day. Parents are welcome to join their kids and even use it as a warm-up for the main race.

This is more than just a run. You’ll start the day with a lively warm-up led by personal trainers, and be welcomed across the finish line by a professional commentator. While you’re out on the course, family and friends can enjoy food and drink from quality caterers, creating a buzzing atmosphere for everyone. The event is fully licensed by UK Athletics and professionally chip-timed by Event Chip Timing, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Runners return year after year for the friendly atmosphere, well-marked scenic course, and encouraging marshals. Every finisher will receive a custom-designed medal, free professional race photos, and a selection of snacks and goodies at the finish line. With consistently positive feedback from past participants, this event promises to be a highlight of your running calendar.

ATW Transfer & Refund Policy - At ATW, we understand that sometimes plans change. While we do not offer refunds or transfers to another person, we provide a hassle-free event transfer option for those unable to attend their booked event. If you are unable to participate in your scheduled event for any reason—including injury, illness, pregnancy, bereavement, or other unforeseen circumstances—you can transfer your entry to any future ATW event. There is no proof required, we trust you!
Even better news, transfers can be made all the way up to 48 hours before your original event date.
