Beat The Bell - 1 Mile to Ultra

Sun 16th August 2026

A white and black pub called "The Anchor Inn" with a sign showing a sailor holding an anchor, benches outside, and a parked car in front under a tree. The building has a sloped roof and tall brick chimneys. A dirt path cuts through a vast field of green leafy crops, leading towards a distant line of bare trees under a cloudy sky. Rows of young fruit trees in an orchard, with grassy paths and patches of bare soil between them. Yellow dandelions are scattered in the grass, and the sky is hazy in the background. A country road curves gently uphill between green fields, with trees and clouds in the distance under a blue sky. A lone figure stands near the top of the hill, partially silhouetted against the sky. A grassy meadow with a narrow dirt path leads toward dense green trees. A church steeple rises above the treetops under a partly cloudy blue sky. A wide, grassy field at dusk with layers of green vegetation and a row of tall trees silhouetted against a pale, fading sky.

What a great first event. Really love this concept of running different routes from 1 mile through to 10 miles, your choice how little or far you want to go. In great countryside, on both trail and roads. And all for charity. Lovely pub, lovely friendly host and helpers. Thank you to all the volunteers. Had a great day out with running friends. Hope to return next year if you do it again. Ooooh and I really liked the Beat The Bell 🔔 t-shirt the lovely lady was wearing. Maybe do a few of them for sale next time 🙏

I really enjoyed the concept of this event with 10 different routes all differing in length, great idea. Well organised and chilled with a lot of effort having gone into this charity event. Hopefully it will be back for next year and continue to grow, raising funds for a good cause along the way. Thank you Rob🙌🏽

I did the inaugural run and really enjoyed it. Only a small event but hopefully will grow. Very well organised with friendly faces. I liked that you could run as far as you wanted- just a mile if you choose, and still get a medal. The courses I ran were a real mix of trail and pavement - some flat, some hilly, with the longer routes taking you into some beautiful countryside- fields, rivers and orchards. Something for everyone. Enjoyed the opportunity between laps to have a drink or some food- sandwiches, crisps, sweets and welcomed ice poles (it was a hot day) or you could get food and a pint at the pub and use their toilets. There was a small car park opposite or plenty of on street spaces were available.

What a great race! Love the idea and in practice it was brilliant, being able to run what you want, when you want was fab. Completely took any pressure off. Lovely routes and getting back to the pub each time for the little aid station was a relief! Ice pops were a God send, thank you. Aid station was better than I expected - lots of sandwiches, crisps and sweets. Routes sign posted better than I expected, only needed to look at the map a couple of times. We did 6, 5, 4, 2 & 1 mile routes. We wanted to do 3 mile aswell but it went mostly same as 4 mile and some of that was same as 5 mile so decided not to do it. Would be good to have some fruit - oranges maybe at aid station and maybe change using the app and make everyone check in and out? Although that might require more manpower? Overall really great run and will definitely be back. Thank you.
