This event offers participants the chance to tackle one of the toughest and most picturesque trail running courses in the UK, with most of the route having been used for the 2015 World Mountain Running Championships. Starting behind St Mary's Church in Betws-y-coed, runners can choose between 10k and 5k distances that take them up into the Gwydyr Forest, with the longer route including a lap of Llyn Elsi before finishing at the Waterloo Hotel. Organiser's Description

The Betws-y-coed Trail Challenge takes competitors on what must be one of the toughest and most beautiful trail running courses in the UK - most of this spectacular route was used for the 2015 World Mountain Running Championships. From the start line behind St Mary's Church in Betws-y-coed, both 10k and 5k routes climb up into the Gwydyr Forest, where they split to allow the longer route to do a lap of Llyn Elsi, before joining back up to finish at the Waterloo Hotel.
