BIARRITZ TO BARCELONA

THE EXPERIENCE

 

Cycle from Biarritz in Northern Spain on the Bay of Biscay through parts of the Pyrenees to Barcelona in Southern Spain on the Balearic Sea, including The Col de Tourmalet a total ride distance of approx. 600km.

This ride is most definitely not about speed this experience is about cycling with friends (or new ones) and enjoying where we are.

Each day we will achieve a new cycling challenge, mostly about enjoying the day in the saddle and heading to the tops of the numerous col’s (Mountains) we find on route, each day we will look for amazing views in the Mountains and Descents that range from 8 – 40 km, it is an experience you will not get every day, and probably one you will never repeat.

The routes are mostly on proper roads, we try to avoid lanes and tracks, so a need to be comfortable in traffic especially riding through the Towns, there is some scope to climb further cols around our destinations however this is at your discretion.

Each day we will cycle a different route always with the goal of following great cycling routes, drinking good coffee, eating cake and being in wonder of our stunning surroundings.

Each evening we will enjoy some stunning cuisine with the odd glass (Bottle) of Red all done in the setting sun and memories to last a lifetime.

AN APPROXIMATE ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive in Biarritz and transfer to the hotel. (Sunday August 6th). (Images here)

Day 2: Ride Biarritz via Pau to Lourdes 143 km. (Images here)

Day 3: Ride Lourdes via Col de Tourmalet to Le Plan (August 8th) 114km or 70 Miles and approx. 3603m of climbing (Images here)

Day 4: Ride Bielsa to Lleida 163 km (Images here)

Day 5: Ride to Barcelona (August 10th) 148km

Day 6: Day to Explore Barcelona (Friday 11th)

Day 7: Journey Home or another day to explore Barcelona. (Saturday 12th)

(If you stay in Barcelona additional accommodation payments are required.)

Day 8: Journey Home (Sunday August 13th)

 

INCLUDED

- 6 Nights’ accommodation.
- 7 Breakfasts (Stops on route are not included).
- Baggage and Bike Transfers during the event.
- Transfers from the Airport to the start Location and to the airport after the event.
- Emergency support from our local team who will be supporting you along the route.

 

EXCLUDED

- Travel to France and from Spain back to your home country.
- Evening meals, Lunches, Snacks, or Drinks.
- Travel Insurance.
- Personal Equipment.

 

TRAVEL TO THE START LOCATION:

It is your responsibility to ensure you are at the start location for this experience.

This is in France; we can transfer you from BIARRITZ (ONLY) to the start hotel.

Please ensure your return flight is from BARCELONA, we will transfer you to Barcelona ONLY.

 

TRIP COSTS:

The total cost of the trip is £990.00 (Including all the booking fee's).

The initial payment through this webpage is a deposit of £200 (Plus the booking fee) this will then secure your place.

Further payments are due in staged intervals, or you can pay the balance in full.

TRAVEL TO EXPERIENCES:

If there is a need to book flights, ferries or additional travel please contact us BEFORE you do this, the experiences have a limited number of entrants needed for the event to take place, we will not be held responsible for any additional costs incurred booking these addition travel arrangements.

ACCOMODATION INFORMATION:

It may be difficult to find rooms that you will have to yourself, this can be done but will include extra costs (single supplement).

Unless otherwise stated you will be sharing a room.

 

For this experience all rooms are twin rooms, with single beds unless you request a Double bed, they are clean comfortable.

If you are coming with a friend or a companion to share the experience with, we will room you together if you inform us first.

 

The days in Barcelona will be in a nice Hotel, we have done this specifically so you can have a weekend of relaxation (if required) in Barcelona after a great cycling trip.

The addition days in Barcelona will incur an addition hotel payment of either one- or two-days dependant on your choice.
