BEYOND LE GRAND DEPART 2023
The Tour de France will be celebrating its 120th anniversary to the day by setting off from Spain for the second time in its history on July 1st, 2023.
Join us and experience 3 full days of cycling on the same routes the pro cyclists will follow and be in and around the Pro Peloton, it’s a great experience and one we can highly recommend.
THE EXPERIENCE
In 2023 we will head to Spain and follow the riders as they compete in the first 3 stages of Le tour de France only the second time the event has started in the Basque country.
The Spanish city of Bilbao will host the very special 120th celebrations of le Tour and its sure to be a great experience.
This departure will be the first ever for the city in the French grand tour and it and its province will host three stages.
AN APPROXIMATE ITINERARY: TBC
Day 1: Arrive in Bilboa (Spain) and make your way to the hotel (Thursday 1st July)
(Possible riding)
Day 2: Cycle acclimatization following the opening stage route. Individual time trial (Friday 2nd)
Day 3: Cycle following the stage 2 route to be back in Bilbao for the finish of the Pro’s. (Saturday 3 rd.)
Day 4: Cycle following the stage 3 route to be back in Bilbao for the finish of the Pro’s. (Sunday 4th)
Day 5: Onward travel (Monday 10th August).
Or you can choose to spend a few more days in Spain.
INCLUDED
- 4 Nights’ accommodation in Bilboa or close to it.
- 5 Breakfasts
- Baggage and Bike Transfers during the event (Bike transfers are only if you miss a stage).
- Emergency support from our local team who will be supporting you along the route.
EXCLUDED
- Travel to Spain and from Spain back to the UK
- Transfers from the Airport to the start Locations.
(You can book a transfer with us if required)
- Lunches, Evening meals, snacks, or drinks.
- Travel Insurance.
- Personal Equipment.
TRAVEL TO THE START LOCATION:
It is your responsibility to ensure you are at the start location for this experience.
This is in Bilboa, Beyond Events do not organize your travel from your home location, although we can assist with transfers if required. (Fee applicable).
TRIP COSTS:
The total cost of the trip is £740.00 (Including all the booking fee's).
The initial payment through this webpage is a deposit of £200 (Plus the booking fee) this will then secure your place.
Further payments are due in staged intervals, or you can pay the balance in full.

If there is a need to book flights, ferries or additional travel please contact us BEFORE you do this, the experiences have a limited number of entrants needed for the experience to take place, we will not be held responsible for any additional costs incurred booking these addition travel arrangements.

ACCOMODATION INFORMATION:
It may be difficult to find rooms that you will have to yourself, this can be done but will include extra costs (single supplement).
Unless otherwise stated you will be sharing a room and sometimes you may be in a dormitory of three (All of the same gender).
This is a very last resort we try very hard to ensure twin rooms, with single beds, this is not always possible in remote locations.
If you’re coming with a friend or a companion to share the experience with, we will room you together if you inform us first.
