registration

You'll need to pay a £30 sign up fee (£10 for ages 14 - 17) and pledge to raise at least £250 (exc. gift aid).

To support social distancing at the event, we have introduced start waves so we can safely guide people through the start line. You’ll be able to choose your start time as part of the registration process.

Please note, once signed up, you will be unable to change your start time. You must be 14 years old to take part in the swim. Please note, anyone under 18 must wear a wet suit (unless able to provide evidence that they are an experienced open water swimmer) and must be accompanied by an adult in the water for the duration of the event.

wetsuits

In order to ensure maximum safety of our participants in the water on event day, Event Water Safety and the British Heart Foundation now require a full wetsuit to be worn by all ages when participating at the Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim.

Although we strongly advise you to adhere to these guidelines, we do recognise that some of our more experienced swimmers, who swim regularly without a full wetsuit in open water, would also like to take part without wearing a wetsuit.

To do so, you'll therefore need to complete this online wetsuit exemption form and email it back to us by Friday 17 June 2022. Only swimmers aged 18+ are eligible to swim without a wetsuit. It is compulsory for swimmers aged 14 – 17 to wear a wetsuit.

fundraising

This event is completely planned, organised and managed by the British Heart Foundation and your entry fee only covers the cost of organising the event.

We ask participants to pledge to raise at least £250, but don't worry, plenty of help will be on hand! Your support will raise vital funds for our life saving research during what has been the biggest challenge in our 60 year history.

Creating an online fundraising page is the easiest way to raise money and just takes a few minutes!
